I ran a one-on-one campaign for AMC in which he played Elster Yarin-Eyestalker-Yenden (EYE). I enjoy DMing one-on-one campaigns because I don't have to worry about "balance" and it's much easier to custom-tailor the story/adventures to what the player enjoys. Running this campaign also allowed me to start research old D&D and Oerth lore, which is how I stumbled upon RJK's Maure Castle and such...
Session 618: Fetching the 1st Gnome: Dalea
*Jeet recruited Elster to go fetch her 3 adventuring grandchildren while she goes to join Thrommel to prepare for the battle of Emridy Meadows.
*Ranger Snowy became Elster’s sidekick and got him to the town of Four Trails in Lortmil Mtns.
*Elster & Snow rescued Hiral (dwarf fighter with engineering training) & Delea the gnome.
*In fighting the bandits & orcs, Elster’s familiar prevented a total party wipeout!
*They fought a cursed goblin party; a cursed sword caused Elster to kill Delea.
*Elster, Snowy, & Hiral recruited bard Elios III & then made it to the asylum where Yendin (no relation to Elster) went for info.
*The group found a glacier tower with frozen monsters and a slavestone; they freed Yendin & others.
*They made sure the insane asylum patients who were recovered were properly cared for.
*The group resupplied the insane asylum & then went to kill the bile spider goblins they heard about.
*They tracked the goblins to Caermor Village & had to deal with a demon cult while killing them.
*Elios III died in the demon battle. Yendin insisted they explore a hidden thief tomb/shrine.
*The shadows in the tomb drained Yendin’s strength and turned him. Elster had to kill the Yendin shadow.
*Elster, Snowy, & Hiral found the party hired by the 3rd gnome Farcer, including Prince Aben.
*They assaulted Lord Cabilar’s Tower to find & rescue Farcer (many traps, monsters, & such).
*The group’s druid performed a wedding for Prince Aben & the elf Lady Parvellen; Elster & Hiral decided to wed as well.
*When battling the vampire in charge (they mistakenly thought him to be Cabilar), the vampire escaped.
*As part of the loot, Elster got the Amulet of Life Protection & a ring of one wish!
*Elster used his wish to bring back Delea & Yardin, but this replaced Hiral & the old druid.
*Elster was in love with Hiral & had given him the Amulet of Life Protection, thus Hiral's soul was in it.
*They tracked down the escaped vampire at Aben’s family’s castle ruins and killed it there.
*They split up: Elster went to Verbobonc; he used the Amulet with a statue of Moradin to get Hiral back into a body.
*The vampire wasn’t permanently killed; he ambushed them, killing Parvellen. They destroyed him.
*Elster, Hiral, Aben, & Carlina (the hired half-orc female guard) arrived in [pre-TOEE events] Hommlet.
*Aben, in his grieving, had an affair with Carlina (after Elster got them a room together).
*Evil Lord Cabilar posed as a nice wizard & enchanted a book for Elster (with hidden scrying).
*Elster & Hiral bought a farm before they headed out to meet up with Thrommel’s forces in Kron Hills.
*Cleric Gort Norchester of St. Cuthburt joined Elster’s group to meet up with Thrommel’s war council.
*Elster, Snowy, Hiral, & Norchester became Thrommel’s Irregulars, taking on missions to help the war.
*They tortured spy Dennek, killed gnolls, destroyed the lich Kell, recruited the elves, & stopped cultists.
*Norchester performed wedding rites for Carlina since she is pregnant with Aben’s child. Aben died.
*They missed out on the actual battle at Emridy Meadows where Citadel of 8 member Serten died.

*Elster had a plan, asked for Thrommel to wait a day before trapping Zuggtmoy in TOEE.
*Elster & Hiral teleported to Greyhawk & met with Elios II, Tenser, & then the rest of the Citadel of 8.
*Elster convinced the group to come destroy Zuggtmoy if Thrommel signs away the throne.
*They made Elster a member of the Citadel of 8; Thrommel agreed to plan; Elster went to King Belvor.
*While others destroyed Zuggtmoy, Elster got King Belvor to declare the unborn Aben child his royal heir.
*Character deaths included: Norchester, Otis, and Lord Robilar (Cabilar intervened with disintegrations)!
*Mordenkainen then had Elster, Hiral, Bigby, Riggby, & Yrag join him at the Maure Castle caverns.
*They got past the magically sealed door, traps, & monsters. They killed Eli Tomerast & the demon.
*Bigby, Riggby, & Yrag were all killed. Mordenkainen allowed Elster to claim ownership of Maure Castle.

*Elster & Hiral stayed in Greyhawk while legally having the deed to Maure Castle & its lands drawn up.
*They saw the New Year’s festivities of 370, befriended Nikko the City Clerk, & made plans.
*Elster had paintings and rings made while Hiral met with dwarves to draw up construction plans.
*Elster also hired a party to come with them (including a young wizard who was Cabilar in disguise).
*On the way to Maure Castle, they parlayed with an evil cleric of Malcanthet named Jezebella.

*Tenser & Elios II teleported in & warned them about not trusting Mordenkainen. Then they left.
*Elster, Hiral, & hired group go up to assault the bandit camp & Jezebella but become entranced.
*Jezebella sacrificed someone & then compelled everyone to have an orgy. They all "bonded."
*Eli Tomerast’s supposed grandson Tomaset is the bandit leader. He tells Elster about Maure Castle.
*Elster asked the “young wizard” to teleport him to get more help, but it’s Cabilar & a trap!
*Cabilar left Elster in a jungle with a note saying to complete quests or he’ll kill Hiral in his sleep.
*Elster met with primitive jungle people; confusion caused them to give him a wife named Suncheka.
*Elster, Suncheka, & 3 warrior men went into the jungle & fought large spiders.
*Elster & Suncheka bonded and consummated their marriage.
*They found the temple (per Cabilar’s demanded quest to retrieve the treasure within).
*The extra 2 warriors died as they cleared out the monsters and looted the lost temple.
*When they resurfaced, a party of adventurers waited with more instructions from Cabilar.
*Cabilar wanted Elster & the new group to go to the Ghost Tower of Inverness & retrieve the Soul Gem.
*Elster detected scrying on the new group’s monk so he privately talked to the Cleric of St. Cuthbert.
*They secretly planned for Elster to kill himself & the cleric use the Amulet to put Elster in a new body.
*They sailed to a fey/pirate island where the plan worked & Elster became the female sirine Tyra.
*Elster had given Suncheka & the warrior man 3,000 GP to start a new life with a tutor.
*Tyra sailed to Hardby, hired caravan Captain Olos, & travelled through Maure (gave Hiral note).
*Tyra made it to the capitol of Urnst, met with the Duke’s Seer, got the Amulet of Recall, and hired a party.
*At the road outside Inverness Tower, Tyra reset the Amulet of Recall’s return spot to the trees there.
*Tyra & the new party cleared the ruins, found the key, and cleared the air elemental level.
*On the earth level, the medusa turned them to stone; Tyra used the Recall Amulet at that very moment!
*Tyra spent almost a month as a statue before the group working for Cabilar found her near the road.
*They explained that Lord Cabilar freed Iuz from the ruins of Castle Greyhawk & is now on the run.
*Tyra got the Amulet of Life Protection from them & told them how to find Cabilar’s Tower.
*She then went back to hardby & spoke with Captain Olos, works for Hiral now, delivering supplies.
*Tyra reunited with Hiral & Snowy at Maure Castle; they secretly formed The Keepers of Arcanum.
*They raided the bandits, killing them & Tomaset, but allowing pregnant Jezebella to live as a prisoner.
*Jezebella revealed that Eli Tomerast’s invisible familiar took his dead tongue & had him resurrected.
*Tyra, Hiral, & Snowy investigate a murder & realize it was Cair’s group, seduced by Jezebella.
*They get Mordenkainen, Tenser, & dwarves to help: Cair’s group freed Jezebella & took Carlina.
*They travel down the castle levels to the Hall of Chambers & kill Cair’s group, Jezebella, & Mozul!
*They rescued Carlina & Mordenkainen revealed plans to start the Circle of 8 at the new year.
*Tyra asked Olos to setup spy system with bards & temple building competition. Tyra scryed Tomerast.
*Tomerast met with The Seekers of the Arcane (including the Seer of Urnst) & a cleric of Malcanthet.
*Tyra, Hiral, Snowy, Mordenkainen, & 2 dwarf clerics go get the Soul Gem from the Tower of Inverness.
*Tyra polymorphed into a gnoll, infiltrated army, got pregnant by Gulnirak, & destroyed the Soul Gem!
*The released souls destroyed Tomerast’s army & then Tyra & Mordenkainen destroyed the Seekers!
*Hiral & Tyra had official wedding ceremony, Tyra bonded with Carlina, & Tyra retired from adventuring.
*Over 6 months time: Tyra convinced Tenser to join new Circle of 8 with Mordenkainen as 9th member.
*The Keepers of Arcanum spread their influence: spies, safe houses, & Snowy’s Alehouse franchises.
*When Carlina give birth, Tyra convinced her to name the baby Elster Aben.
*The temple building contest ends: Moradin, Glittergold, & Ehlonna – elves of Ehlonna win.
*Tyra leaves her growing city of Castle Drake when King Belvor of Furyondy’s carriages arrive for baby.
*Tyra became engrossed in Furyondy politics after sending Carlina away to live in Hommlet.
*King Belvor put Tyra in charge of raising Prince Elster Aben & Tyra has her own half-gnoll child!
*Back at Castle Drake, Hiral had a Tyra statue made & hidden away (just in case it’s needed).
*Mordenkainen officially founded the Circle of 8 with: Bucknard, Drawmij, Leomund, Nystul, Otto, & Rary.
