SAGA Log 1436 Pezok’s
Army
[Module: Continuing Serpent's Skull Adventure Path]
While the others (Pylia, Drizmar, Blue, Blood, and their
recruited team) were assaulting the Vault of Madness, Pezok had an army of 30
bullywug (frogfolk) warriors to lead across the island. Pezok convinced the men
to follow him and face whatever dangers were between them and the ape king’s
palace.
In the jungle they killed some wandering dinosaurs and met
a dino-slayer druid-barbarian lady who offered to team up with them. She had
treeport abilities to take them across the island. She took them to a group of
lizardfolk, who offered to team up as well and assault the City of 7 Statues.
Together they killed a possessed dire ape, a shadow demon, and a human
necromancer with a mask of terror.
At some ruins, Pezok’s army defeated: 25 yuan-ti, a bunch of
large snakes, some oozes, a large water elemental, and 4 golems; half of the
frogfolk and lizardfolk were killed off.
The group then took out 3 pteranodons, 4 crocodiles, a half-orc
rogue-ranger, a huge dinosaur, 6 trogs, and 4 gibbering mothers; this battle
killed off everyone except Pezok, the druid-barbarian, and 3 of the lizardfolk “spirit-dancer”
shamans.
A "beautiful water genasi woman" named Egzimora convinced
Pezok’s army to stand down and come with her into the ape king’s palace,
telling them that their friends were inside in the Vault of Madness. In the palace,
they realized many of the apefolk had been slaughtered and they were being led
into a trap. Egzimora turned out to be a green hag; they killed her and then
defeated 2 chimeras, 1 young black dragon, 8 yuan-ti, and a rakshasa croc-man;
only Pezok and 1 of the lizardfolk shamans survived. They freed the imprisoned
ape king and his winged fighters after finding out what had happened to Pylia, Drizmar, Blue, and Blood's team.
